Misbehaviour’s Website

British born Misbehaviour firmly planted her roots within the essence of London’s club culture and made her mark at premier London venues such as Hanover Grand (Jay Z’s favorite club at that time) and Subterania, both winners of the prestigious MOBO Awards for best club. This lead to such exclusive events including a private party for Prince.

Misbehaviour’s love of Hip Hop brought her to Brooklyn in 1999 and has performed at venues such as Canal Rooms, SOB’s, Santos Party House and The Roxy. In the summer she is one of the main Djs in Central Park, for the world famous roller skating disco, now in her 14th year residency with the skaters. After being in New York for only 2 years she promoted her night “Bubble and Squeak” on Sundays @ APT, with such prestigious guests as DJ Spinna, Idris Elba and Evil Dee. A fusion of London and New York vibes, Bubble and Squeak was voted pick of the week in Time Out, Paper Magazine and The New York Post. Her clients include many prominent companies such as Bergdorf Goodman, Diesel, Puma, Saks 5th Avenue, Vibe Magazine and 555 Soul.

Misbehaviour is a passionate vinyl collector, buying her first record at the age of 9. Her eclectic taste in music allows her to satisfy many different audiences and she loves to get the dance floor going. “My roots as a DJ come from the 80’s warehouse party scene, where it was all about getting down and having fun. I am glad I cut my teeth in the UK club scene, in my opinion British audiences of all ages have an appreciation for music that I have not found in many places. My special love for Rare Grooves + Reggae comes from that, We love a Tune!!!”. Her love of Reggae lead her to open for the prestigious Downbeat The Ruler and she found her way into the Sound Clash world of the Caribbean Community in NYC. “I love to battle, the
competition keeps you sharp and it’s so much fun.”

She was the featured DJ in the documentary ‘NYLON’ for London Weekend Television which looked at British artists based in New York. Misbehaviour divides her time between London, New York and also Antigua, where she is one of the regular guest DJs for Jazzie B’s (Soul II Soul) ‘Back to Life Reunion’ Parties and Annual Eastern Caribbean Sailing Week Events.

Besides being part of the Mobile Mondays! Collective, Misbehaviour presents her weekly show ‘Bubble + Squeak’ on http://www.radiolily.com/
Thursdays 2pm to 4pm. She also spins at various spots around the city, find her through her Social Networks for more information.

misbehaviours45“I want to my first record store and bought this when I was 9. I’ve moved around a lot in life and lost many possessions, but for some reason this little sucker stayed with me through all my life’s ups and downs. I also think I was very fortunate to be subjected to such heartfelt and poetic lyrics at
a young age and I am sure that had a major affect on my musical path.”
