MM: When did you start djing?
45 King: 1976 in the 9th grade.

MM: How did you get the name 45 king?
45 King: I gave it to myself, because i could mix / spin 45’s real good.

MM: What inspired you to do the little records on little turntables video?
45 King: Having two lil turntable helped, having a batt. operated party.

MM: Did you know how popular it would get?
45 King: No, not really.

MM: What 45s are you still looking for?
45 King: i’m good.

MM: What do you think of the recent popularity of the 45?
45 King: Great i can sell 45’s Now!

MM: What are some of your favorite beats you used 45’s as samples ?
45 King:  The Honey Drippers – Impeach the President  & The Magic Disco Machine – Scratchin.

MM: Who were some of your influences as Djs?
45 King: Earth Wind & Fire, Kool & the Gang & The Jackson 5.

MM: Where did you get most of your 45s? Were there more records in New Jersey or New York?
45 King: NYC

MM: Have you ever done an all 45 set in a club?
45 King: yes & I did a few years ago in California.

MM: Are you excited for your MM debut?
45 King: yes! very

MM: What is your Favorite 45?
45 King: The Magic Disco Machine – Scratchin

MM: How did the Flavor Unit come about?
45 King: Kids in my Basement! Rocking the mic and smoking weed!

MM: What’s next for the 45 King?
45 King: I wanna be a videographer.
