4-Do you own 45’s? I own a lot of 45s about twelve boxes my first 45 I ever bought as as kid was “Stickem” by the fat boys.

11/25/13 Mobile Maniac – Olya Fomina
1- What is your Occupation? I’m a singer-songwriter, a musician, I play a piano and a little guitar. I’m working on my own rock project and going to play my first show with a full band in a couple of months. I also model and take photographs. Oh and, of course, I’m a bartendress, and I was lucky enough to bartend at Mobile Mondays for a while.
2- Where do you sleep & play? We are accustomed to say in New York: “I will sleep when I’m dead”, – which totally fits my lifestyle. I am where good music is playing and where I can smile and have a conversation with cool people and find an inspiration for my creativity, MM is one of those venues by all means.
3- How did you get to MM? Happened to get a bartending shift on a Monday night.
4-Do you own 45’s? What was your 1st 45? So for me, it’s just the beginning of the story. I got inspired by MM djs, watching them playing awesome music, and seeing how passionate they’re at what they do and how happy it makes everybody around (including me), so I got myself turntables and a mixer and now I’m planning on getting a few 45s to begin practicing. I want to get Curtis Mayfield’s and Otis Redding’s 45s for starters.
5- How would you describe yourself in one word? A pirate. Arrrr!!!
6- How would you describe MM in one word? One word is too hard – I would say – it’s an oasis of full hearted and soulful fun on a deserted Monday night of New York, that will make you rock your body as the groove gets in.

1- What is your Occupation? Full time dj.
2- Where do you sleep & play? I live in Long Island City. I hang out around here sometimes, otherwise in Brooklyn, the lower east side, or anywhere in the city really. I never know where I’ll end up. Wherever the good parties are I guess.
3- How did you get to MM? A dj friend of mine brought me to MM.
4-Do you own 45’s? What was your 1st 45? I own a small collection of 45s. The first 45 I ever purchased was Miami Sound Machine, “Bad Boys”. It was the only 45 I owned for a long time as I really only collected 12″ records when I first started buying them.
5- How would you describe yourself in one word? I have no idea on that one. Sorry.
6- How would you describe MM in one word? Underground.
